Okaaay, here you will see two frames playing back and forth from the original UFOs over London vid. I've zoomed in on the 'UFO' roughly 250%. Have a look at the clouds and you will see that they are warping and skewing, this is due to the Rolling Shutter found on iPhones and other cameras with CMOS sensors. For more info on rolling shutter see the Wikipedia page. Interesting how the object in the middle does not seem to exhibit these rolling shutter artefacts.... Even though it so small in the image, if it was filmed in camera it would still skew ever so slightly but in this case the shape of the object stays consistent, thus proving that the object was added in post. It's a damn fine effort I must say. Very well tracked and composited, my guess with Mocha or NUKE's inbuilt planar tracker but I wouldn't expect anything else from the guys who did it. All that was needed was to use the matte output from from The Foundry's Rolling Shutter plugin applied to UFO. I'm sure the guys at The mighty Mill know this already but couldn't be arsed going through this extra step. Adios and keep watching the skies.
